U.S. Coast Guard 13th District Response Advisory Team (DRAT)

The DRAT is an advisory team to assist CG units and response partners plan for and respond to oil spills in the Pacific Northwest. Through advising units on site-safety, response equipment, and environmental consultation of Pacific Northwest natural resources. The Emergency Towing System (ETS) was developed to rescue disabled vessels that experience catastrophic engine, steering, or loss of power casualties and are at risk of grounding on the coastline in a remote location. Thus, preventing a large scale marine oil spill.
